چکیده
Motivated by the call of International Maritime Organization to meet emission targets 2030, this study considers two important practical aspects quay crane scheduling: efficiency and energy consumption. More precisely, we introduce bi-objective scheduling problem where objective is minimize vessel’s completion time crane’s This done formulating a mixed-integer programming model. A branch-and-bound algorithm was developed as exact solution approach find full set Pareto-optimal solutions. We consider (i) various lower bounds for both objectives, (ii) specific upper bounds, (iii) additional branching criteria, (iv) fathoming criteria detect Numerical experiments on benchmark instances show that can efficiently solve small- medium-sized problems.

A Branch-and-Cut Algorithm for the Quay Crane Scheduling Problem in a Container Terminal
The quay crane scheduling problem consists of determining a sequence of unloading and loading movements for cranes assigned to a vessel, in order to minimize the vessel completion time as well as the crane idle times. Idle times originate from interferences between cranes since these roll on the same rails and a minimum safety distance must be maintained between them. The productivity of contai...
متن کاملA modified branch and bound algorithm for a vague flow-shop scheduling problem
Uncertainty plays a significant role in modeling and optimization of real world systems. Among uncertain approaches, fuzziness describes impreciseness while for ambiguity another definition is required. Vagueness is a probabilistic model of uncertainty being helpful to include ambiguity into modeling different processes especially in industrial systems. In this paper, a vague set based on dista...
متن کاملAddressing a Coordinated Quay Crane Scheduling and Assignment Problem by Red Deer Algorithm
Nowadays, there is much attention for planning of container terminals in the global trade centers. The high cost of quay cranes motivates both scholars and industrial practitioners especially in the last decade to develop novel optimization models to address this dilemma. This study proposes a coordinated optimization model to cover both Quay Crane Scheduling Problem (QCSP) and Quay Crane Assig...
متن کاملA Novel Adapted Multi-objective Meta-heuristic Algorithm for a Flexible Bi-objective Scheduling Problem Based on Physics Theory
We relax some assumptions of the traditional scheduling problem and suggest an adapted meta-heuristic algorithm to optimize efficient utilization of resources and quick response to demands simultaneously. We intend to bridge the existing gap between theory and real industrial scheduling assumptions (e.g., hot metal rolling industry, chemical and pharmaceutical industries). We adapt and evalua...
متن کاملA Branch-and-Cut algorithm for factory crane scheduling problem
The factory crane scheduling problem (FCSP) deals with assigning delivery tasks to cranes and then sequencing them, in order to minimize the total completion time for all tasks. In this paper, delivery tasks for required jobs are preemptive allowed at most once before the jobs arrive at exit. The preemptive jobs are temporarily stored in a buffer stack, in which jobs pickup and delivery should ...
